This collection is truly a rare find with vintage playbills from 1930's, 1940's, 1950's and 1960's for the theater enthusiast and playbill lover. Collection includes over 105 Playbills! (Two shows have duplicate playbills.) One playbill is from the Premier Performance of The Cave Dweller’s Opening Night at the Bijou Theatre, October 19, 1957 with two ticket stubs from the show, cover is printed on gold paper.
This fantastic collection features very old and rare playbills starting with the show, Jezebel, starring Miriam Hopkins from January 8, 1934 at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre and ending with The Apple Tree, January 1967, starring Alan Alda, Larry Blyden and Barbara Harris at the Shubert Theatre and January 1967, The Start-Spangle Girl starring Anthony Perkins, Connie Stevens and Richard Benjamin at The Plymouth Theatre.
The playbills from the earlier decades are worn from age (a couple of the playbills have pages that are not intact). Playbills from 1950’s to 60’s show less aging. Included in this diverse collection is the playbill from Two’s Company starring Bette Davis, February 1953, at the Alvin Theatre. Also included is The Libretto from the Metropolitan Opera of Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice (vintage no date). Some playbills having writing on the covers and checkmarks by some of the actors’ names.
